The founder, Captain Istvan Szalay (1922 – 2002), a professional Merchant Marine Captain, came to Venezuela after the end of the WWII, working in the maritime industry for shipping agencies when decided to create a small firm of his own in the Port of La Guaira.
In 1986, amid the economical crisis the company started Operations in Puerto Cabello and opened a commercial office in Caracas.
